Healthcare, which is among the critical sectors identified by the NIS Directive, is going through a period of profound change related to the widespread diffusion of digital technologies in care pathways and techniques, as well as in the administration and governance of healthcare services. But as digital therapeutics, Artificial Intelligence, robotics and telemonitoring in healthcare grow, so do cyber-attacks: the sector is the most targeted by ransomware while the healthcare industry is ranked among the worst performers in cybersecurity performance.
