Applied Sciences | Emerging Approaches to Secure and Protect Critical Infrastructures

Message from the Guest Editors

Dear Colleagues,

Critical infrastructures are at the core of our society. Protecting and securing them is crucial for guaranteeing the safety of citizens. As these infrastructures are heavily connected, this, as a result, makes the attack more sophisticated and targeted. The overall scenario is in continuous evolution, and novel emergent approaches are required to cope with the security and protection from physical and cyber threats and the correlated events. Moreover, the involvement of people and ‘so targets’ could be a fundamental resource in the prevention, detection, reaction, and mitigation phases. The goal of this Special Edition is to collect highly relevant and outstanding research articles that are able to provide solutions for securing and protecting critical infrastructures. This Special Issue will benefit the research domain and the industry as a result.
