29 Oct CASD | Expression of Interest for Tenure Track Assistant Professor vacancies in Cybersecurity and AI
The Center for Higher Defense Studies (CASD) in Rome—reconfigured as a University School for Advanced Defense Studies in 2021—became the 8th Public University School for Higher Education and Research in September 2024, along with Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa), Sant’Anna (Pisa), IMT (Lucca), SISSA (Trieste), IUSS (Pavia), GSSI (L’Aquila) and SSM (Napoli).
The CASD School develops doctoral programs and conducts research in Cybersecurity and AI, Political Science and International Relations, International Law, and Organization Theory.
The academic staff currently consists of two full professors, two associate professors, and seven fixed- term assistant professors (RTD-a).
To swiftly expand its academic staff, the CASD School seeks expressions of interest in Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (RTT) positions related to Cybersecurity and AI.

- System Security (e.g., Operating systems security, Web security, Mobile security, Distributed systems security, Cloud Security, Maritime and Aviation Security)
- Security Analysis (e.g., Malware Analysis, Program Analysis, Fuzzing, Automated Vulnerability Discovery, Formal Methods for Security)
- AI and Machine Learning (preferentially with application to Cybersecurity)
- Privacy and Anonymity
- Hardware Security (e.g., Embedded System Security, Cyber-physical Systems Security, Side Channels)
- Usable Security
- Wireless and Network Security
- Blockchain and Distributed Systems Security
- Applied Cryptography
Candidates must have an excellent background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications and be able to teach at the doctoral level. They must also have solid research experience, an excellent list of scientific publications, and the ability to work independently and with other university members.

Selected candidates will be invited to give a talk at the CASD School in Rome, either in December 2024 or January 2025.
