CyberChallengeIT, over 4,000 apply to become ethical hackers

There are more than 4,000 of them, aged between 16 and 23, who want to become ethical hackers. A week before the closing date for enrolments, 28 January, there is already a great deal of interest in CyberChallenge.IT, the school for young computer security experts organised by the National Cybersecurity Laboratory of Cini (National Inter-University Consortium for Information Technology).

The organisation has for years been committed to promoting cybersecurity subjects, particularly among young people: boys and girls who aspire to a career in the sector or who just want to test their digital skills.

But this last phase will be decisive: with the closing of registrations, in a few days, work will begin on the finalisation of the admission tests, from which more than 700 young boys and girls studying in Italy will be chosen and will thus have the opportunity to take part in the initiative.

CyberChallenge.IT is the first national training programme aimed at young talents to train the cyberdefenders of the future, with the collaboration of 34 locations, including 31 universities, the Tuscan Cybersecurity Competence Centre, the Command for Training and the Army Application School in Turin and the Aeronautical Academy in Pozzuoli.

The young people will be supervised by university experts and leading companies in the sector, who will introduce them to the scientific, technical and ethical principles of cybersecurity, with practical activities on how to defend themselves against cyber attacks. The programme will culminate in a final national competition that will elect the best Italian team.

TeamItaly

Among all the participants in the training and competitions, the best ones will then be invited to form the Italian National Cyberdefender Team, TeamItaly, which will have the opportunity to compete against other national teams in events and competitions around the world.

Further details and the list of participating venues are available on the website: www.cyberchallenge.it
